Plan the ultimate Perth City pub crawl!
With summer’s long days and warm nights fast approaching, it’s the ideal time to start planning a pub crawl for silly season. Now’s your chance to grab the crew and discover some of the best bars, beers and cocktails that Perth has to offer – but in a seemingly endless sea of venues, where do you begin?
We’ve been operating in WA’s beverage scene for over four generations, so we know a good venue when we see one. Whether you’re a craft beer lover, crazy over cocktails or simply looking for a crowd-pleaser, here are three places that we recommend adding to your pub crawl itinerary!
Fancy a craft beer? Head to Island Brew House
So, you’re looking for an inner-city venue to please the group’s craft beer connoisseur? Kick off your pub crawl with some of the city’s freshest brews at the Island Brew House. Positioned on the water’s edge of Elizabeth Quay, Island Brew House is the P-City microbrewery with a pour to satisfy any beer lover. Sit back in one of the brew houses’ relaxed sitting areas and enjoy some of the city’s most stunning scenery, with all-round views of the Swan River, the city and Kings Park.
This venue boasts a total of 34 taps, featuring a rotation of beers from four local brewers (like Black Brewing and Gage Roads) and six beers brewed fresh on-site. Take a peek in the building’s mezzanine and you’ll find six beer tanks brewing the venue’s unique pours, including a Pale Ale, Brown Ale, Belgian Blonde Ale, Pilsner and two lagers.
We set up and installed Island Brew House’s dispense system, helping to ensure that their unique pours could run straight from the vat, through their pipes and directly into your glass – you can’t get much fresher than that! More about our brewery services here.
Love a classic cocktail? Check out The Royal
Wondering where to head next? Well, it wouldn’t be a pub crawl without a few cheeky cocktails – we know just the place!
Built in 1882, The Royal is one the city’s most iconic venues, with plenty of impressive artwork, a groovy retro staircase and an outdoor verandah perfect for a balmy afternoon Daiquiri. Boasting a total of 48 taps and a well-rounded beverage list of smart cocktails, wines and craft beers – it’s the ideal stop to re-energise mid-bar-crawl.
Make your way upstairs and admire the venue’s trendy interior over a Whiskey Sour. Otherwise, if you’re more of a people-watcher, head out to the verandah and see Yagan Square from above with a Mojito in hand. Whether you’re after something sweet, bold, refreshing, sour or anything in between – the Royal’s collection of local, and international spirits would impress even the fussiest of cocktail lovers!
Looking for a crowd-pleaser? Swing by Market Grounds
Known for being the CBD’s go-to for after-work drinks, there’s no crowd-pleaser quite like Market Grounds. Located right in the heart of Kings Square, this venue is the first inner-city link between the CBD and Northbridge in more than 100 years. So, what makes it the ultimate crowd-pleasing stop? Well, this venue has a whopping 34 taps across its ground floor, upstairs bar and stunning garden bar – pouring an impressive selection of beers, ciders and cocktails.
If this is the third stop on your list, you’re probably well and truly ready for a boogie by now. Luckily, Market Grounds is a bar by day and a mini-club by night. If you’re looking to put that liquid courage to good use, you can bust out all of your best (and worst) moves on the dancefloor!
At Barons, we custom designed Market Ground’s dispense systems to seamlessly handle the venue’s three serving zones. We also regularly maintain and service the venue’s entire system, so we’re confident that no matter what you order – if it’s on tap, it’ll be pouring to perfection.
There you have it, three CBD venues that we recommend visiting on your next pub crawl. At Barons, we’re proud to have worked with some of WA’s best hospitality venues, including the three above.
